I spoke with Dianne Morris at the Holiday Inn at Mt.Vernon today and she is blocking off rooms for the Gathering, Thurs. Sept 27, Friday 28, and Sat 29. The rate is $88 + tax per night. Their regular rate is $99 to 105 plus +tax. To my knowledge, the Holiday Inn is the only motel in town that has a restaurant and bar under the same roof. There are many other rooms available in Mt.Vernon at cheaper rates if you so desire. Check out the Gathering web page or google "Mt.Vernon Illinois motels". You may find a cheaper rate at the Holiday Inn from "Price Line" or other Internet sites but use caution. The reservation, once made, you may not be able to change, cancel, etc. Just know what the terms are. I would wait a day or so before calling for a reservation to allow them to get the info to the front desk personel.

As always, camping by the lake is approved for those not wishing to visit the "Official Hotel of the KR Gathering", or any other hotel for that matter!
